Privacy Policy
Copsewood Editorial Services Ltd (CES) is a limited company registered in England and Wales and is managed by Director Amanda Kay, who offers freelance editing, copy-editing, proofreading and writing services to clients.
The company is compliant with GDPR, the General Data Protection Regulations in force from 25 May 2018.

What information is collected and why?
When you contact CES, you are asked to provide the following:
- your name
- your email address for subsequent communication
- project details and possibly a sample of your writing.
If you wish CES to work with you, the following information is collected:
- postal address to be used on invoices to fulfil the company’s contractual obligations to HMRC (the UK tax authority)
- the file(s) needed to complete the work.
Where is the data stored?
Emails are stored on a password-protected email account. I do not have a hard-copy address book.
Files are stored on my computer's hard disk.
How long is the data kept?
Your personal data – your name and address – is kept for a minimum of six years to comply with the company’s obligations to HMRC, the UK tax authority.
Unless requested otherwise, CES will keep your files for the same length of time, though I am more than happy to delete them sooner if you request this. - if you would like the files deleted, please contact editorial@copsewood.net.
Is your data shared?
Unless CES is audited by HMRC, CES does not share your data with anyone.
The exception to this is in force majeure situations, in which case the Company Secretary, Richard Kay, will have access to emails to contact current clients to advise if the situation will affect the schedule or CES’s ability to complete a project. The details will not be saved or copied to the Company Secretary’s own files.
CES does not subcontract work.
CES does not discuss your project with third parties or on the internet/social media without your permission.
If CES cannot take on a project, details of other copy-editors or proofreaders for you to contact might be provided. To facilitate communication, CES will give the copy-editor or proofreader your first name and let them know you might get in touch. CES will provide no further details.
CES does not use cookies on its website.
